Questionsand straight answers.
What media buying teams ask before they move their streams to DarkCore Tracker.
Questions
Do I need a server?
No. DarkCore runs the tracker in its own cloud: nothing to install, update or scale. You point a domain at it, or buy one in the tracker.
Is it the same as DarkCore PWA?
The tracker is the click service of the DarkCore PWA platform. You can use it without PWAs: a split sends traffic to landers, offers, direct links or any URL.
Which sources does it work with?
Any source that passes parameters in the link. Click IDs of Meta, TikTok, Google, X, Reddit, Bigo, Kwai, Yandex and Microsoft are caught by themselves, and conversions go back to Meta, TikTok and Google server-side.
Does it track spend and ROI?
No. The tracker counts clicks, bots, conversions and revenue from postbacks. Spend, profit and ROI by buyer live in DarkCore CRM, which reads the tracker's numbers.
Can I move from Keitaro or Binom?
There is no importer, so streams are set up again. Networks can keep their postbacks: the tracker reads click_id, clickid or subid, status and payout.
Which filters can a rule use?
Country, OS, language, device type and sub1 to sub10, with equals, not equals, starts with and contains. All conditions of a rule must match.
How long is data kept?
Reports go back 180 days. Blocked, bot and unrouted clicks stay in Tracker Logs for seven days, and their counts stay in reports.
Bot filter
Is a blocked click counted?
As a block, not as a click. Reports count bots and blocked clicks apart from the traffic that passed, and Tracker Logs keeps each one for seven days.
How do I see what was blocked?
Cloak Health on the stream shows let in, blocked, bot and unrouted clicks for the last 24 hours, with the top reasons and countries. Tracker Logs shows each click with its layer.
Does Strict slow the visitor down?
Only the first visit gets the browser check. A visitor who passed it carries a signed cookie and goes straight on.
Rules and routing
Can I route by a parameter that is not a sub?
Yes. Map the source's own parameter to one of sub1 to sub10 in the stream, for example external_id to sub7, and filter by that sub.
Can a rule filter by city, ISP or browser?
Not today. Rules filter by country, OS, language, device type and subs. City, ISP and browser are in Tracker Logs and in reports.
How fast does a change reach live traffic?
Save the stream and the new rules are served without a restart or a new link.
Splits
Does the tracker move weights by itself?
No. Weights stay as you set them. Read the report and change them yourself.
Can I split between offers of different networks?
Yes. An offer is a URL with macros, so offers of any network can share one split.
Will changing a weight move old visitors?
No. Visitors who already have a branch keep it; new visitors get the new weights.
Analytics
Are bots in the reports?
As their own metric. Clicks count only the traffic that passed the filter; bots and blocked clicks are counted apart.
Does the report show spend or ROI?
No. The tracker knows revenue from postbacks, not spend. Spend and profit by buyer are in DarkCore CRM.
Can I get the data out?
Export any report to CSV or XLSX, or read it with an API token that has the analytics scope.
Click logs
What is a click_id?
A short ID the tracker gives every click and signs. Pass it to the network with {click_id} in the offer link, and the network sends it back in the postback.
How long are clicks kept?
Passed clicks are in reports for 180 days. Blocked, bot and unrouted clicks stay in Tracker Logs for seven days, and their counts stay in reports.
Are conversions in the log too?
Yes. Tracker Logs also lists conversions, installs, pixel events and postback deliveries next to the clicks.
